Newbie looking for retina display advice and comparison

hey guys,

have ipad 3 on order , deliver on 16th. have ipad 2, ipod touch 2nd generation, , aluminum macbook 2008. want know big deal retina display? able tell difference? or did waste money? don't know. screen on ipod , ipad same. i've held friends iphone 4 , see screen looks little shinier , more detailed. that?

in advance. know it's stupid question i'm not familiar of high tech items. thanks.

when zoom in on text on iphone 4, doesn't pixelated. when on ipad or ipad 2, you'll see pixels.

ipad 3rd gen's screen iphone 4, way more amazing. when first saw ipad 2, thought screen beautiful. imagine 10 times more awesome that.
