custom segue help...


hello there.

new apple/mac.
designing simple app, check username , password , if matches, open new page. simple. new this. don't know.

works fine except cannot put condition in custom segue checks if username , password correct or not, before loading next page.

how can that?

custom segue: (i need add condition can check if username , password in source view controller correct or not before loading destination view controller.

i not think segue proper location verify credentials. run conditional check in source viewcontroller push segue if credentials pass.

answer question can access source , destination properties via self.sourceviewcontroller & self.destinationviewcontroller.

iOS marking new email as read w/o having been read


when new mail on both ipad , iphone, it's automatically marked read me opening it.

gmail account set push on both devices.

thoughts why might happen? can imagine, makes difficult know have , haven't looked at.
 

how handle other based on whether opened? phone can't read thoughts see when read.

it's kind of reverse problem have sometimes. email short enough can read in notification , wish there way mark such without opening it.

have blank at&t micro sim , want know if work before out of rerun policy. read at&t not able recognize imei of verizon ipad believe there way register sim card without attached device.

there no at&t lte service in nj went verizon ipad. however, option use att's data because gb same price verizon's 2gb/$30 plan. (especially considering fact of how fast can go through data on lte)

New iPad and ATV3 Airplay Performance


anyone else out there tried airplaying 1080p content atv3 new ipad yet? i'm getting absolutely atrocious throughput , buffering lag.

both atv3 , ipad on same 802.11n airport extreme lan. recorded 40 seconds of video ipad , tried play atv wirelessly. took on two minutes buffer 40-second clip.

last night pushed 1080p24 movie atv3 macbook pro , go same thing -two minute wait before playback started (no hangups once got running, lead time here ridiculous).

airport extreme in same room, no interference other waps, reports clean 802.11n speeds connected clients.

comparison, regularly stream 1080p24 files mac mini via xbmc on same airport extreme wap 0 lag , no buffering. know it's not network bandwidth issue.
 

i've seen demonstration raspberry pi. didn't seem have of lag time. must atv software. sure addressed soon. @ least, hope so. hoping picking 1 weekend.

i'm loving thedaily's 2 week trial, , wish there free. have few apps far, i'm looking of better free ones. i'm thinking of evernote since want write with, considering using safari , google docs.

suggestions on great free apps? had ipad 2 last year 2 weeks before financial issues took away me, have few had then, i'd take advantage off display bit more :)

, dont have internet connection on powerbook g4.

use lan network @ home , 1 switcher 1 pc , powerbook connected 1 ethernet cable.

looked on itunes donnie darko , available. didn't resolution movie in did available ipad , apple tv. when buy movie on itunes, , download 1 of devices, scale device... or chose resolution want purchase movie at?

What is the ideal size to display a photo on the new iPad?


2048 pixels wide , 72 dpi? 96 dpi? matter?
 

i think "ideal" resolution , dimensions use native resolution , dimensions, around 240 ppi @ 2048x1536 believe. it's close print resolution.

How do I specify destination folders?


coming windows when export projects or save files i'm used being able specify exact destination folders, example if i'm exporting video i've edited of our holiday sharm el sheik can set destination folder follows:
movies > holidays > sharm el sheik.

when try same on mac can select movies, doesn't allow me go deeper folder tree have save movies, locate file , either copy or drag holidays , sharm el sheik.

there way can specify exact destination folders on macbook?

finding music already paid for


just wondering if can advise how can hold of music bought through itunes 4 years ago , downloaded on old pc laptop. presume have bought them, somewhere in cyberspace , should able them again have no idea start.

if you've got itunes on current computer (and it's recent version) , still using same account, should able go purchased tab , select "download previous purchases" @ bottom of window. should see list of itunes-bought music. click "not on computer" button see songs want , select cloud button start downloading them.

i going point out yes t isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) toxic long term exposer.

using 99.9% (pure isopropanol) , can tell working clean electronics in short uses can leave light headed after short while. fums powerful. plus if have prolong skin contact it dry skin , feels weird. great cleaning stuff have side effects.

rubbing alcohol buy drug store @ 90% , time 70%. makes rather large difference. delute glasses lens cleaner solution , works great there not spraying 99.9% on glass. more 70%. other 30% being distilled water.

Disk Utility-Deleting Linux Partitions


hey guys, today, tried deleting linux partitions on mbp free space. sounds easy enough right? well, - sign lets delete partition couldn't pressed. in disk utility, erased linux partition , dropdown menu, selected mac os journaled instead of ms dos fat because figured let me remove it. well, :mad: instead decided rid of other 3 linux partitions, , combine them 1 deleted , give 250 gb or of memory. while gave mac parytition 132 gb or so, , in picture below, said had 132 free, indicating mac empty, yet, mac files seem fine. however, havnt restarted computer yet, , i'm afraid if delete files. suggestions? :(

iPhone 3gs stuck with a spinning circle


alright first off, i'd thank reading this. it's first post on site, , of course it's because need serious less working iphone.

alright first things first. have iphone 3gs running on ios5.0.1. jailbroke redsn0w_win_0.9.9b8. have new bootroom untethered. later on having problem data (which later turned out carrier leaving shut off between bill payments.) tried downgrading shsh blob, didnt have 1 , tried jank program it. program didnt finish correctly though placed it's own codes in , point on couldnt restore phone @ all. (and @ point still start tethered.) yesterday bored , in cydia , felt downloading theme downloads winterboard, didn't have. placed theme on phone , didnt reset because @ work , far tethering source. 10 minutes later phone shut off , tried reset, , point on been either on apple symbol or spinning loading symbol. i've tried ton of different tricks knew sorts of other jailbreak mistakes,(been jailbreaking since possible) not single thing changing @ all.when restore acts successful afterwards iphone recognises doesnt setting up, , phone wont change.

can put in recovery mode, dfu mode, , can restore unsuccessfully. please if there anything, literally try all.

@ point i'm hoping sort of formatting can start fresh.



please me!!!!

Resume/Portfolio advice...how to prove I know my software?


hi guys,

i'm trying career switch , twice come during interviews may lying software know. no 1 has ever asked me software specific questions twice told "unlikely" knows software listed.

not have outlandish software list, use programs quite common (adobe photoshop/after effects, unity3d, xcode, visual studio, maya, zbrush, corel painter, microsoft office, stuff that).

idea combat 2 fold. first, 1 website use training (lynda.com) has printable certificates when complete course. i've printed them , put them in same binder put resume copies in case wants see. sadly, site use (digital tutors) has no such certificate system.

second working on online portfolio showcasing things have made in each software list on resume, way in case question comes up, can @ , see i'm not lying.

has had happen them? thoughts on idea combat this? not want leave off software listed because worked hard learn softwares use resume.
 

nobody should (or does) give weight printed online certificates. best bet put "examples available upon request." somewhere in resume.

also, saying "know" software ambiguous , doing more harm if "know" it. mean? microsoft office example: know icons like, or can write excel macros you're making grocery list? these different levels of "knowing."

2011 iMac HDD Fan Speed


imac specs: 3.4ghz i7, 2gb vram, 16gb ram, 2tb hdd+256gb ssd

noticed hdd fan rpm's idling around 1174-1179 , when using aton of apps (ps5, dw5, itunes, mail safari, steam, firefox, open @ once) loaded around 1188-1195. go down.

after leaving machine off day let cool , maybe reconfigure temps, idles around 1199-1215 never reached temps, system hot @ , nothing running.

tried fan reset plugging power in while pressing power button didnt seem help.

1210rpm+ normal? seems idle @ spot , going more....occasionally see drop down 1189 few moments 1208~


other fans normal , when compared other similar imacs theyre same.

suggestions?
 

fan speeds between 900 1,300 @ idle normal. fan speeds above 3,000 rpms getting fast. rpms above 4,000 getting fast... if wondering, imac fan speeds between 1,000-1,200 , can barely hear them.

Sound issues with Macbook?


hey everyone, i'm new here i'll give little background.
got macbook may 2006. ever since got have had nothing issues screen, battery, ram, , this. using mac os x 10.5.8 leopard. has happened sound. i've searched high , low answers , can't find same mine. can't hear on internet. i've tried google chrome, safari, firefox , opera, , can't hear on youtube videos, pop ads, nothing. know not speakers because can hear volume control, startup, error sounds videos/music on itunes. while searching saw making account. enabled "guest" account , went on youtube on account , works - can hear everything. problem don't want make whole new account, i'd rather fix preferences , stay on account has everything.. guess question is, why happening, , how can fix it? i'm extremely frustrated , confused! if need other information macbook let me know. in advance! :)
 

i've never had problem i'm not sure if it'll maybe need reinstall os? i've heard fixes problem. or reset pram and/or smc.

Raptor and reversing a sting???


i have submit code class design program prompts user enter string , displays string contents backward. instance, if user entered "gravity" program should display "ytivarg." have python code done. reverse word used, word = raw_input, print word [::-1]. can not figure out how make work in raptor. don't know language use make reverse string. appreciated assignment due tonight! thanks!!
 

first off, python 'cheats' @ because can in python doesn't mean you've mastered concept of reversing string. languages don't have built in function without thinking it.

secondly, 'raptor' can find kind of flow chart language seems can't right.

edit: 'raptor' you're referring to. need think of required reverse string. 1 way use concept of stack or recursion. way use built in string language constructs prepend strings if available.

Are iPhone/iPad chargers interchangable?


the subject says all. know iphone charger charge ipad slower, don't know if ipad charger fry iphone.

plugged third-party usb cord work computer yesterday , ipad refused charge off of it, that's why i'm wondering...
 

i've used 10 watt ipad charger on both iphone 4 , ipod touch without problems. charges faster :).

Thinking about returning iPad for iPhone 4S


so topic title says, i'm considering returning ipad 3 iphone 4s. why? 3 reasons:

1. it's pita carry around sometimes
2. it's terrible phone. ( don't have cell )
3. friends/family don't have number calling , number texting, former working when app running.

think had other reasons can't think of them @ moment. there 3 problems have switching iphone though.

1. it's not lte.
2. it's small in comparison ipad (duh)
3. don't idea of paying $91 month.

also, question. paid using paypal debit card. if make return, return card or possible cash?

, lastly, thoughts on this?
 

those 2 totally different devices , 1 not replace other one, if compliment 1 another.
if need phone buy phone has nothing ipad @ all.

Removing OS X from iBook G3


hello again all, simple quick question y'all. have original 300 mhz ibook g3 dual booting 10.3.9 , 9.2.1. i've bought airport card can start using on go again. (side note: remember when these original cards $50+. bought 1 on ebay $8 free shipping. how things change.) i've been thinking maxing ram, getting bigger hdd , new battery make usable again. however, long ways off, don't have money spend on fun. now, need space , speed can get.

i've got os x on 2 machines, don't need badly, , panther runs quite horribly on 12 year old beast, not mention takes 2/3's of 3 gb hard drive. wondering if possible remove os x , leave os 9 intact? have misplaced install disks , i'm not find them again. perhaps adding problem, iirc there more 1 way dual boot , frankly haven't clue how did @ time. (it had os x when bought it, added os 9 afterward) i'm pretty sure both on different partitions, right? if so, how go getting rid of os x one? advice appreciated, thank you.

first let me zagg invisible shield... i've put them on -my camera body, ipods, watch faces, both macbooks i've owned, etc. not on screens. rubbery feel isn,t compatible touchscreen imo. well, day new ipad arrived took trip best buy decided give hd version try. it's great. same great protection liked without rubbery feel. , first time in life managed install without trapping single spec of dust under it. both proud , happy new screen protector.

on 17th made stupid mistake. on couch mountain of paperwork when grabbed ipad use hard surface sign on. bad, bad move. set paper aside , grabbed next 1 looked down , saw perfect imprint of signature , date right smack in middle of screen. invisible shields soft & smooth surface of hd version can imprints coming contact hard/ sharp objects. imprints disappear after few hours or day. must have been signing hard though because it's still there. tried everything. rubbing it, heat gun on low setting, think of.

gave zagg call , explained had done. admitted stupid mistake , own fault, didn't feel fair of me take best buy suggested co-worker. asked if had ever had happen , if there do fix or minimize it.

without hesitation, , bit of resistance me, since looking suggestions, woman spoke @ zagg insisted on shipping me new one. looked account , noticed dozens of zagg products i've purchased on years , waived shipping being longtime customer too. a+ in book.



tl; dr: zagg sent me new ipad hd screen protector after told them idiot , screwed myself.
 

wait, thought supposed self-healing? ordered hd version website 20% off coupon code day before release date , shipped out yesterday. i've used bestskinsever value decided try hd 1 retina display

everytime use multitasking bar, ipad goes safe mode. (both multitasking bar, , homebutton dubble click)

tried uninstalling tweaks, did not work.
tried crash reporter, doesn't give me guess.

Can't get my 3GS out of Recovery Mode After Motorcycle Wreck...I'll Pay $50 to Fix


if can please me, paypal $50 whoever can solve problem.

wrecked motorcycle yesterday , landed on phone, has 11 years of pictures, texts, contacts, , notes. invaluable me. phone charges , starts up. can dfu mode, can emergency call mode, , *think* can recovery mode although i'm confused difference between , emergency call mode.

it's iphone 3gs running 4.1. tried tinyumbrella, fixrecovery, , recboot last night. tinyumbrella had no effect whatsoever. hit "exit recovery" after unchecking 1 box , nothing happened @ all. fixrecovery brought black window , started working window disappeared right before step it's supposed "uploading ibss payload" or similar (i've seen screenshot of working properly, know coming next). recboot didn't work because didn't have net 4.0 installed. recboot older version think, maybe 1.0.2 or something. installed net 4.0 didn't restart comp yet. @ point, itunes still recognized phone, version of operating system, in recovery mode , needed restore, etc. today downloaded current version of recboot (1.3 think, 1 tells whether or not detects phone in recovery mode) , before tried using it, restarted computer. once restarted, itunes no longer recognized phone. computer thought camera, , itunes displayed phone's name said "waiting iphone..." , nothing. downloaded itunes again, i'm assuming deleted old itunes , updated files. i'm still having same problem, though. recboot not recognize phones in recovery mode connected computer.

don't care phone or features, i'm going buy new one. want data off of there can transfer new phone. it's priceless. please help.

did ever sync iphone itunes? if so, you'll have backups of phone on computer.
these backups can opened, , photos , files pulled out of them easily. t this, you'll need iphone backup extractor.

Keeps crashing


something weird has been happening ipod touch 4gen lately, pretty since 6pm last night. jailbroken, i'm still @ 5.0.1, i'm waiting untethered jailbreak 5.1. here's issues have noticed crash it:
1. when try put down notification center, comes down, goes partially, half covering dock apps, freezes , crashes.
2. facebook , mail crash when i'm going through , using them
3. when lock ipod, or locks itself, screen goes blank normal, turns on, crashes.

tried deleting of new tweaks had installed, mail enhancer pro, customize facebook, , aloud, unfortunately had no effect. tried restore through aptbackup, , unfortunately didn't either.

can fix this?

Ugh...No one can help me, Please help?! iPhone 3g troubles...


hi, name candace. please read have say. people scan through , give me advice i've tried. anyways...so got 1 of friend's iphones other day, i'm suppose him fix it. iphone on firmware 3.1.3 of right now, , stuck in recovery mode. on top of that, can't stick iphone dfu mode home or lock buttons. please don't tell me hold down power/lock button followed home button , on, because doesn't work me. here's history iphone...
-this second time i've had him iphone. first time got it, it's firmware 4.2.1, stuck in recovery mode, wouldn't go dfu mode redsn0w, wouldn't kick out of recovery mode tried...basically same stuff doing now. came across video said buttons might broken or something, maybe should try downgrading tinyumbrella. downloaded firmware 3.1.3 because guy in video told me do...and went through steps of downgrading real firmware of 3.1.3 , custom firmware or 3.1.3 finally, when done, had fixed iphone. gave back. put stuff on there, , itunes gave him warning telling him needed upgrade higher firmware or apps wouldn't work. did. made him go right recovery mode screen. , here are.
-so can downgrade again, apps may not work, , iphone may not work quite right. pretty sum up...i'm trying find way restore bastard without holding down buttons put in dfu mode, can kick out of recovery, maybe boot ios 4 firmware. no luck far because no 1 knows surefire way on how it. thing would great.

best can. jailbroke 3g not long ago on 4.2.1.

first of all, you'll want download piece of software capable of putting in dfu mode. believe redsn0w (or other jailbreak software) can this. can update ios 4.2.1.
second, there's specific version of redsn0w worked me when jailbreak software tried didn't work. don't recall was, might able pull googling "4.2.1 jailbreak." maybe forum member nice enough take guess version i'm talking about.

is there app tells how ram have available on ipad. l looked @ ram doctor hd , seemed inaccurate. *
 

on macbook pro, use istat pro widget. it's reliable, think bjango's ios app too. it's 99 cents. monitors data computers too. i've never tried if wanted monitor iphone or ipad, first buy , try.
