Thinking about returning AT&T iPad for Verizon

i have at&t ipad arriving on friday. have used at&t years, have been happy them (with exception of drop calls phenomenon in iphone 4 era). out of habit preordered ipad at&t last week.

however, after reading on it, seems verizon has advantage current ipad.

- lte: verizon's lte network more extensive
- hotspot: seems key... wi-fi hotspot @ no additional charge.

advantage at&t seems have lower $/mb price @ tiers. also, at&t has free wifi in various locations.

live in nyc, , at&t lte apparently fast here, at&t lte limited major cities. example, it's not available in denver, travel quite bit.

have few questions verizon ipad, can't seem figure out:

1) when traveling internationally, can "deactivate" verizon roaming , buy data sim card? previous unlocked ipads, possible, haven't seen confirmation of verizon ipad.

2) international frequencies available on verizon ipad? presumably can't use hspa+ gsm available in (even if buy at&t sim card , put in verizon ipad). similar frquencies abroad?

3) of have verizon lte phone? how lte unavailable?

considering going verizon store @ 8 on friday , returning at&t ipad when take delivery...

the verizon ipad unlocked at&t 1 , has of gsm bands. work overseas at&t version. difference between 2 lte bands , verizon 1 supports cdma.

in sf bay area, have verizon 4g lte mifi , haven't dropped cdma in of areas. lte network had coverage wherever have already. verizon plans convert full lte next year have solid buildout
