Noob question about banana plugs

so moved house has had speaker wire run through walls in tv room. wires have banana plugs on both ends.

have yamaha rx-v371b 5.1 receiver. on has 2 jacks (probably wrong word) labeled "right front" , "left front" take banana plugs. they're cylindrical in shape, 1 red , other black.

other jacks spring clips. these labeled "rear surround" or , "front center".

here's problem: rear speakers in room wired through wall have banana plugs on both ends. possible put banana plugs spring clips?

 

step 1: cut off banana plugs

step 2: strip wire , twist it

step 3: connect it

, there's no difference
