my girl friend has iphone , i'm wanting update ios 5 don't think ever connected phone computer have, (it set in store).
tried plug in , , update comes 'set iphone' screen , asks if want sync. wasn't sure if wipe data (contacts, messages, photos etc.) or music. (as iphone has done sometimes.)
there way can iphone update ios 5 without losing data?
you can , won't lose sms, pics , contacts etc may delete music.
important bit of advice though, if you're upgrading ios 5 4 or less save contacts in computer's/mac's address book away itunes , save pics hard drive.
reason because ios 4 , less backups not compatible ios 5. fail restore backup every time. gonna lose sms sure i'm afraid unless can download 3rd party sms saver
