Can someone simply explain this to me..

i posting question here in hopes can quick answer.

had fios installed @ home today. work ran home make sure going smoothly.

when got there brings me office , shows me old vonage router & comcast modem aned says here stuff no longer need. points airport extreme sitting on desk , says "i didn't know was, disconnected , set fios router..and working fine." looked @ him , said, "are kidding me...what mean disconnected , good?!?". looked @ me , didn't have answer.

anyway, tied in , wasn't working. there error on base station went ap utility , said "double nat..if trying connect broadband unit, go settings , disable nat , use bridge conntection." that's did , began working properly. still have 2 separate wireless networks (ap & fios) , seems normal.

question is..what did changing "bridge". not network savy @ all, if has simple explanation appreciate it. , there else should given set-up.

in advance! , apologies posting here.

with fios install router (wired , wireless), not plain modem. don't need separate wireless router though can connect 1 (as have) bridge.

can find fios router's ssid , password on bottom (or side) of router installed.

keep in mind if ever need troubleshooting verizon router, want connected directly rather router.
