AppleTV 3 max practical bitrate

hi! new poster here :)

know new appletv supports hip 4.0 in 1080p 25 megabits/second.

wanted find out is, new atv practically go higher, , if so, how headroom?

have ton of h264 content bluray library keep on home server; changed container mp4 original video untouched, , imports itunes ok. sync of (stuff old twilight zone series on bd) on ipad when going on short trips.

i'd is, atv3 , in theory stream video receiver atv3 playback device.

of content hip 4.1... average bitrate of 20 mbps, max bitrates spiking ~ 30-32 mbps. not want re-encode drop spikes.

questions are:

1. if these files import itunes ok, , sync , play smoothly on new ipad, should expect itunes try stream them atv3? or itunes in way , "sorry it's 4.1 , see might on 25mbps i'm going 'device not supported' " ?

2. if itunes doesn't in way , stream content atv3, atv3 handle brief spikes > 25mbps ok, or throw hands , give me unsupported media format error?

before buy thing, want idea how of existing media library play on it. i've gone through great pains pick h264 blu-ray content, , of imports itunes properly, many things bluray, bitrates can spike past 25mbps. if atv3 looks @ "profile 4.1" , doesn't try, it's not right device me.

i posted experience earlier:

got man no name triology on bluray , ripped each makemkv. remuxed mkv m4v, leaving video untouched, though re-encoded dts ac3 , used home sharing via ethernet atv3 play.

of 3, bad , ugly played fine. mediainfo lists bitrate @ 23 mbps.

fistfull of dollars (at whopping 36 mbps) , few dollars more (28.9 mbps) both had issues. play a5 couldn't keep , i'd video artifacts. plenty of movie had buffered don't think network related.

in not bad guess list l4.0 highest profile supported reason. (the difference between 4.0 , 4.1 maximum bitrate 25 vs. 50 mbps)
