Data Files on MacBook Pro, but can't see them?

i tried use migration assistant old macbook new macbook pro...using small lacie usb external hard drive , time machine file. seemed until taskbar reached 'less 1 minute remaining'. stayed on hour, cancelled it.
seems though 230gb (pretty of files, apps etc) migrated on new mac, have been on both users exist - admin , x. can't seem find music, documents, pics or settings (like desktop arrangement, mail account etc) on either user.
chose replace third user made (called 'matthew') migration/time machine backup old mac had same username of matthew. problem?

if can or suggest next actions, grateful

what is data there or not?
in 1 sentence there , in next cannot find it.

use daisydisk or omnidisksweeper maybe helps locate it.

not clear description problem. not understand file system enough find or did canceling trigger rollback of whole think. if cancel copy operation undone.
