no need bump. first of all, following:
0 - have usb hdd on hand , make fresh time machine backup of machine before touching lion. precaution makes easier "clean install" should require one. not merely update previous tm backup. important have clean fresh tm backup know free of corruption , can used fresh install migrate purposes.
1 - download lion app app store , stop
2 - open install os x lion.app in finder "show package contents" , find file called installesd.dmg.
3 - make copy of file! might need restore later on.
4 - once know have safely copied installesd.dmg , put on 8 gig or larger usb drive (it won't fit on 4 gig), can run lion installer. delete after install don't skip steps 1-3!
5 - if install goes well, go. if not, there other things can try amount "fresh install"...
1 - use disk utility make bootable usb stick installesd.dmg backed earlier. need partition 8 gb or larger usb stick guid partition scheme hfs+, can use disk utility "retore" installesd.dmg stick formatted. don't use 1 tb hdd. don't use disk need else. spend time pick empty 8 gb usb stick @ walmart , use it, not drive containing files need or care about!
2 - hold option while booting , boot usb stick made above.
3 - once booted up, launch disk utility usb stick , partition , format mac hdd hfs+. did make fresh time machine backup before getting far right?!?
4 - exit disk utility , install os x macintosh hd created in step 3
5 - when prompted, "migrate" fresh time machine backup made earlier.
