Resolved Lost all my language options

i have apple wireless keyboard , mac pro computer 5 or 6 years old,
keyboard set either british english or spanish, use american english can use american (number symbol) musical sharp sign when need it.
needed 4 days ago , switched keyboard language english, when came switch british english language options had disappeared.
stuck keyboard layout has no (at) sign , many other signs have altered example Ç(russian) ¿(spanish) Ñ(spanish) etc, may still english keyboard have searched in vain (at) sign means can,t (typical changed key apostrophe) type e-mail address¡ (upside down exclamation mark)
have googled problem , have inkings might have me running windows on mac using vmware fusion. can confirm or give me clue how old keyboard layout back.

lost language options solved!

hi guys

let know have stumbled across answer above problem, 30 minutes after coming here help!
anyhow, here did.

go 'system preferences'/keyboard.

see if there tick in "show keyboard character viewer in menu bar"

if there tick, take out , see if normal language flag appears in menu bar.

if there isn't tick, put 1 in , check menu bar again.

1 of these operations should solve problem, in case there no tick in box there black , white display in menu bar there had been union jack (british flag) still can't figure how black , white display not considered keyboard character viewer, in other words thought b/w display character viewer, since had not taken tick out f box myself.
