hi,
work gave me mac air, , hope can replace pc it.
however, there jobs need access couple databases. not edit, run reports , queries. have used access.
assuming access not available on mac?
if not there alternative use reliable?
no ms access mac.
filemaker 'standard' mac desktop database package. have sort of 'lite' version called bento.
no idea if - don't think can connect access database filemaker -although have never tried.
there couple of options running windows programs on mac though:
1) virtualization - can run full copy of windows in virtual machine on mac. can tough on air because of limited drive space , limited ram, although have run few programs , infrequently, ok. there many threads - search.
2) remote desktop - if still have access windows desktop somewhere on network, can open remote desktop connection it. prefer running vm. ms makes remote desktop client mac - see microsoft's mac site -mactopia.com
3) wine - emulates windows , allows windows programs run natively without vm. pretty sure won't work access anyway.
