Docked Iphone only playing through one speaker on book shelf system

hi guys-

have iphone 4 docked on sony book self system. couple of days ago started playing through 1 speaker (itunes, rhapsody) played cd , cd plays through both speakers , radio. i'm not sure happened appreciated.

try different iphone or ipod. if it's radio. try cleaning contacts pencil eraser , alcohol wipe.
