Bricked iPad 1 PLEASE HELP

hi.

yesterday decided update ipad 1 os 5. first time ever had attempted update, know stupid, surf net on pad anyway never issue me.

anyway, synced on boyfriend's pc running windows 7. went ok. itunes prompted me update os 5, proceeded do. went , took shower, , came bricked ipad. not turn on, nothing on screen, nada. it's battery dead - no life. , know battery charged , nothing when try charge it, when plugged pc, nothing.

when got itunes , try restore (which itunes tells me need do) knows ipad plugged in doesn't bring serial number or anything. go through first steps of restore (extracting...) sits on preparing ipad restore 5 minutes , comes error 1603 or 1604. last nights restore attempt prompted error 1603, mornings attempt 1604.

installed fresh version of itunes. plugged directly internet (vs. wifi). plugged direct pc ipad (not using dock). i've held home , power buttons @ same time million seconds many times count now. unistalled apple driver, reinstalled.

don't know , appreciate help. bummed out, sad.
