SnakeClamp Cobra iPad Stand Review -- Finally an affordable eye-level stand!

i've been looking stand raise ipad eye level hands-free viewing, of options out there either expensive or took space. other "swing arm" style stands ran $270! in response a thread posted on board, forum poster two2seven suggested take @ a snakeclamp.

snakeclamp brand seems relatively new line of products, , far tell, there literally 0 reviews of ipad stands online. may first! still, price nice ($54.95 plus shipping) , decided take plunge. chose "mini-universal" ipad mount option because wanted leave incipio ngp bumper case on ipad.

ipad cobra snakeclamp contains 3 1' aluminum arm sections, vise grip clamp attaching desk or table, , choice of ipad 1, ipad 2/3, or "mini-universal" bracket mounting ipad.

vise grip sturdy metal , has rubber coating prevent damage desk or table.

able assemble stand in less 5 minutes, , ended using 2 of 3 arm sections. made distance right couch-surfing ipad , reduced "wobble factor" when tapping , swiping screen.

ipad lounging in full effect!
easy on eyes , wrists, , can read comics, surf web, , watch videos hours on end without getting crick in neck staring down @ lap. , hands stay free cold beverage!

pros , cons:

+ cheapest eye-level ipad stand @ $54.95 plus shipping.
+ sturdy, quality aluminum construction.
+ 3 feet of adjustable arm length.
+ easy remove table/desk , set once find comfortable locked position.
+ the mini-universal attachment accommodates ipad case (as other tablet or e-reader).

- mini-universal attachment not support vertical portrait orientation ipad--it slide right out.
choose ipad 1 or ipad 2/3 attachment that--but need remove case.
- the stand wobbles bit when touch screen, , can disorienting while reading.
fixed leaning heavy book against vise arm, reduced wobble factor zero.
- you must loosen/tighten each arm joint reposition it--this not tension spring arm instantly adjustable.

overall, pleased snakeclamp! it's "best buy" kind of stand @ $55 plus shipping. aware want ipad 2/3 attachment if use both portrait , landscape orientations.
