Extending Desktop over a Local Network

hi,

wondering if knows way extend mac's desktop on local network linux ubuntu computer. vnc maybe?

ps: have tried screen recycler doesn't work.

 

1.open system preferences black apple menu. click sharing.

2.at top of services list screen sharing. select , turn on.

3.where says allow access for:, choose users.. make things easier.

4. if not using screensharing or jollysfastvnc have to:
click computer settings button.

next window check on may request permission control screen.

on same window enable vnc viewres may control screen password option , choose password.

allows computers running vnc software not support security methods, such chicken of vnc.


on linux machine - open vnc client - , type in dns name or ip address of mac , enter above password
