Make MKV Blu Ray work! ...For Dummies!?

hello,

aunt bought me planet earth, don't own blu ray.

i'm not technologically savvy (neither aunt!), , hp omni100 pc won't register existence of disks. neither make mkv.

know there post this, couldn't find answer within replies.

have winzip, , tried follow instructions of life hacker ,

"the easy method" won't register discs, , don't know how unzip blu ray disc support ".pyo" files video something-or-other "complicated method."

need simple "make damn thing work dummies" style answer. i'd rip them can have them on file.
