Am i doomed with my usb 2

hi guys,

i've got macbook 5.1 bought in 2009. it's got 2 usb 2.0 ports. in audio , have been working in large studios trying bring work home , need speedy data. lose quality firewire conversion usb? possible install firewire card macbook? worth it?

there no firewire usb converter or adapter , no, can't install firewire on mb.
if need/want firewire, have mac or computer.
