Is it odd that I have to have AirPort Express 25' to extend AEBS?

i have airport extreme base station located in 1 end of house. in order usable wireless internet connection in bedroom located @ other end of house, need extend network (using airport express) @ 25 - 30 feet mark.

house 'l' shaped, there's 2, maybe 3 walls wifi signal go through room in straight line. yet, doesn't give nice, healthy signal.

wrong setup, or bad luck?

wifi not exact science, performance depends lot on local conditions, it's impossible tell right off bat if something's wrong in case if in fact signal throughout entire house, if bad one.

if had had no signal, maybe not close base station, it'd been easier! ;)

have experimented re-positioning aebs? common advice place unit high up, away metal objects or other items may block signal. logical solution issue of course move aebs central location in home.

use 2.4ghz band or 5ghz? also, on 2.4ghz, should try switching channels, see if helps.
