while apple has been rumored several sources planning deploy quad-core processor part of presumed new "a6" system-on-a-chip in ipad 3, assumption called question earlier month appearance of logic board photo showing "a5x" package instead. have suggested implication of package being beefed-up a5 limit dual-core processor.

idea of package being smaller upgrade supported apple referring application processor s5l8945x, part number jump of 5 s5l8940x processor found in a5. a4 chip launched in original ipad carried processor designated s5l8930x.




examination of ios 5.1 beta code 9to5mac has revealed yet application processor, s5l8950x, appearing alongside s5l8945x apparently inside a5x. new application processor presumed part of apple's actual a6 system-on-a-chip.
