Problems with games running through steam

i have late macbook pro 2011 , been having problems trying play kingdoms of amalur demo. cuts scenes , gameplay blank screens. i'm not sure issue play sw:tor no issues. if can give me advice i'd appreciate it!

also space marines 40k won't start.

 

i'm relative newbie steam on mac, i've noticed subtle bugs in games, particularly regards fullscreen apps not being able quit on occasion. steam great in theory, practical matter has mixed results on secondary platform. sorry don't have specific advice here. while steam decent platform on windows, i'm not sure there's great solution other looking mac-specific reviews , seeing if there's common issues people experiencing.

app store getting more , more important, devs compelled make cross-platform apps work better on macs. situation better today few years ago, @ least.
