Steam for Mac Won't Download

what sent steam support....can me please?


when try download steam mac, 12k of 49k kb's message says "steam needs online update. please confirm network connection , try again." dsl internet not disconnecting or anything, i'm not sure why keeps doing this. problem?

don't have firewalls on. steam downloaded on windows 7 laptop, i'm pretty sure couldn't port problem? tried deleting "registry.vdf" file , did not work either. i'm on wireless, plugged in ethernet cable , did not work either.

console message said this...

on imac mac os x - version 10.6.8

tried downloading english.txt , placing in package folder, did not work either.

when this...

open finder window , browse following location:
/users/[username]/library/application support/steam/config/
double-click config.vdf open using textedit.

thing found in steam folder is...

"registry.vdf". there no config or config.vdf

explained later not show because first time user.

afterwards, copy , pasted terminal...

"cd /
cd applications
cd steam.app
cd contents
cd macos
./steam.sh"

when copied , pasted , hit enter automatically started updating steam, if clicked on steam icon.

in terminal window showed this....

gave me same network connection message before, clicked ok , repeated ./steam.sh command in terminal

gave same message before, tried advice said do. said go steam folder , delete registry.vdf file, did , entered command in terminal once again. gave me same message.

so, i'm guessing steambootstrapper_english.txt not loading. tried finding file on internet once before , added folder. still didn't work then. way, when delete registry.vdf file automatically pops in steam folder when click steam icon update.

 

try downloading latest version steam website , reinstalling. find if don't play steam while, far behind in versions continue work.
