i don't know happened 1 second i'm reading new emails, start surfing website return mail , gone. thought app crashed closed , opened back. logon gmail webmail , inbox empty well. have 5 email accounts, folders still there inbox empty. went deleted/trash folder , has portion of emails.
figured since use time machine can restore mail app files. restored user>library>mail user>library>preferences>com.apple.mail.plist.
thought going work, messages there once connected server, deleted messages.
i'm not sure next. i've tried searching came seem come this. appreciated.
in gmail, can click on "all mail" , see 1400 messages

1 gmail account
1 comcast pop3 account
1 me.com account
2 personal domain pop3 email accounts.
imac
osx 10.7.2
2tb time capsule (latest 2 hours ago.)
i may or may not have fixed it.
while mail.app opened, loaded time machine.
went recent backup, selected 1 of inbox folders , restored it.
showed in mail.app on mac>time machine>inbox.
selected of messages , moved them appropriate inbox.
it's transferring messages , in mean time checked webmail , messages there.
have try other 4.
