Self-employment / freelancing full time advice

hey all. apologize if there other threads on same subject didn't find recent when searching, wasn't 100% on specific enough terms? apologize length.

anyway, week ago accepted new job offer taking me normal salary 9-5 design job contract basis (potential go on w2 after 2-3 months if want to) 1099 job. i'm excited , have started working new job (its handling design 2 trade magazines each month , yearly parent magazine) while finishing off 1 i'm leaving. new job pays same old after taxes etc afford me more flexibility , less full time work half month, means can more small freelance too....

made use of current medical , dental plans researched , got personal health insurance plan covers basics , major medical , made budget accounting self employment , other taxes , planning on opening separate savings account dedicated tax money.

questions follows though -

1. got taxes down there else should think perhaps people on look? kind of stuff you/can write off @ end of year business expenses freelancers?

2. @ there tactics use keeping on task or organized opposed being in office ever day? i'll working home few days month.

3. how keep feeling isolated during day if work home?

4. there program , software recommendations have keeping things organized , projects managed or find helpful keeping on task while having multiple projects or clients? have been freelancing on side tiny bit, 2 magazines concentrate on plus other projects perhaps there better things out there?

5. else should know while working contract/1099 employee @ all?

in advance, trying use whatever resources can make transition smooth possible.
