iPad loosing charge very very fast!

i received ipad on launch day , far have been using web surfing , switching apps original ipad new ipad. however, in last 5 days have charged new ipad twice , both times ipad has died on standby barely use. don't have apps running in background either. has been happening else? might have switch mine out.

 

is there errant app running in background draining it? maybe push/fetch email? have tried closing apps , rebooting? see accessing location services.
