NTFS-formatted drive showing up as unreadable
i have ntfs-formatted drive windows user. it's understanding osx should able read (but not write to) format.
when try mount drive, get: "the disk inserted not readable computer."
when run disk utility, select disk , run verify disk, get:
verifying partition map “wd ext hdd 1021 media”
checking prerequisites
checking partition list
checking efi system partition
checking efi system partition’s size
checking efi system partition’s file system
checking hfs data partition loader spaces
checking core storage physical volume partitions
partition map appears ok
when click on (single) volume on disk , same, get:
verifying volume “disk2s2”
checking file systemchecking journaled hfs plus volume. <-- bit suggests osx thinks it's formatted hsf+?
invalid number of allocation blocks
volume not verified completely.
error: disk needs repaired. click repair disk.
when run repair disk, get:
verify , repair volume “disk2s2”
checking file systemchecking journaled hfs plus volume.
invalid number of allocation blocks
volume not verified completely.
volume repair complete.updating boot support partitions volume required.error: disk utility can’t repair disk. many of files possible, reformat disk, , restore backed-up files.
idea issue , it? while copy of data, not original, it's 2tb's of data spain, not easy access other way.
ben
