Negotiated Link Speed: 3 Gigabit -- why?

so here's report system profiler:

intel 6 series chipset:
vendor: intel
product: 6 series chipset
link speed: 6 gigabit
negotiated link speed: 3 gigabit
description: ahci version 1.30 supported

apple ssd sm128c:
capacity: 121.33 gb (121,332,826,112 bytes)
model: apple ssd sm128c
revision: axm09a1q

have quicker samsung-made ssd, why not working @ full 6 gigabit?

probably because not 6 gigabit.

memory, apple ssds (both of them) won't saturate 3 gigabit connection anyhow.
