Hard drive problem?

hello

have problem macbook pro mid 2009 2,53 ghz. yesterday of sudden started giving me sorts of error messages when trying open documents or copy on hard drive. try shut down computer, , can't start again. original hard drive must dead, because can't erase other macs or windows pc's.

today bought new hard drive, work in other macbook pro laptops, 1 not recognize it.

have tried move hard drives other macbook pro laptops have, won't start either.
ram works fine.

have clue? chipset? not suspect cpu problem, because starts , shows me boot menu , disk utility fine, when use lion or snow leopard disk.
