hi all, we've given unused copy of final cut studio (containing final cut pro 5) student. has said not working says "powerpc applications no longer supported". imac running lion 10.7.2 , meets other minimum requirements.
bought software in 2007 , used run in on intel mac pro (bought in 2006) fine.
can shed light on issue?

sadly, he's right. run ppc on intel machines, need rosetta. rosetta doesn't exist in lion anymore.
solution: external, bootable drive snow leopard , install fcp 5 there... or second partition on imacs internal hd snow leopard.
