streaming TV programs

hi, i'm trying stream tv program on vidxden. won't play because says i'm missing plug-in. have perian & vlc installed on macbook pro i'm puzzled. i've opened vlc player not sure need next. have adobe flash installed & wondered if might somehow interfering. step step appreciated.
