iOS 5 - Spam Mail not get a notification?

wirelessly posted (mozilla/5.0 (ipod; cpu iphone os 5_0_1 mac os x) applewebkit/534.46 (khtml, gecko) version/5.1 mobile/9a405 safari/7534.48.3)

getting heaps of spam gmail account now.
whilst messages go spam folder, cannot find way them not give me notification when arrive. enjoy having mail notifications legit messages, annoying when interrupted useless notifications.

on latest version of ios 5 (5.0.1)
gmail email service account on, accessing email through microsoft exchange.

thanks
jordan

make sure have spam not set "mail folders push".

settings > mail, contacts, calendars > [your gmail account] > mail folders push
