ffmpeg help

as suggested in forums, i'm trying transcode tv show have in mkv format.

downloaded ffmpeg , used command ffmpeg -i file.mkv file.m4v

after doing so, got 2 errors:

[libvo_aacent @30194b80] unable set encoding parameters

error while opening encoder output stream #0:1 - maybe incorrect parameters such _bit_rate, rate, width or height

doing wrong?

 

anyone?
