[SOLVED] Copy files from a failed HD via external HD boot OR via terminal commands

how can copy files folder (eg volume/users/name/music) inside hd volume external hd (eg lacie 500gb) via terminal commands installation disc boot? proper commands type in terminal?

please note hd volume stores folder want copy (which install osx) unbootable due invalid node structure issues. can boot installation disc. have tried many solutions no result. want transfer files in "failed" volume external hd. note (not sure how matters) can see files there in volume through disk utility restore option although can't access it.

so, again, suppose copying files via terminal in installation disc boot posssible solution, commands should type?
