Questions Regard Upgrading Macbook 5,1 (2008)

hi everyone,

wondering guys think upgrading macbook
specs are:

2 ghz intel core 2 duo
4gb ram
160 hd 5200 rpm (stock)

macbook 3 years old , thinking time upgrade, wondering guys thoughts are!

1)i thinking either upgrading software lion or snow leopard

2)thinking of upgrading harddrive either crucial m4 128gb sata ssd or seagate momentus xt 500 gb 7200rpm. price difference 40 dollars main concern ssd work macbook?

3)my battery life getting pretty bad. im lucky 2 2.5 hours on wifi off , screen brightness on low. battery life 93% 270 cycles. not sure can increase that.

upgrading may more use out of machine. replace battery sure, if getting 2-2.5 hours out of it. far ssd goes, cautious. have 128ssd in mba , fills fast. may better off getting 500gb or 1tb 7200rpm hdd. hdd see improvement in speed , have plenty of room storage. ssd isn't large, 128gb not lot, forever transferring files off mba onto mbp or imac keep ssd open. other option, buying new machine, thats more expensive, noticed huge jump mbp or mba i5, or i7.
