Multiple airport express speaker points in large room

hi,

have looked before never taken further again find myself pondering on feasibility of using multiple airport express points along small speakers pump low volume background music , pre recorded announcement broadcasts itunes throughout 1,000 sqm room filled shell scheme exhibition.

can't have music loud in single area - instead need blanket coverage if majority of people in room (up 500+ people @ time) can hear both music , more importantly announcements.

thinking of 8 airport expresses , 8 single speakers - can have power points located 10 feet off ground on top of shell scheme , dotted equally around room maximise coverage.

centrally located within room macbook pro running itunes (also have ipad2 , iphone4 run playlists , announcement from).

doable? , if need airport extreme airport expresses?

have budget of around £1,000 , if works able use system annually , ideally @ 3 other events.

can in av company charge around same money have expense every year @ every event - costing me maybe £4k year instead of £1k. - overkill have big loud pa system when music has quiet anyway people can hear talk on it.

can experience of airport express , speakers give me pointers on , advice on decent speakers use appreciated - single speaker @ each point preferable.

many in advance assistance.

yes doable, no not need airport extreme, though may make management easier.

set on airports network extensions of each other. tying them form single network. not aware of limits on how many can tied together.

far speakers no idea.

cheers
