Installing DDR2 6400 instead of DDR2 5300?

just got late 2008 17" mb pro , wondering if install 2x4gb ddr2 pc2-6400 800mhz 200pin laptop sodimm instead of 5300.... read somewhere can push limit little higher ram on these... ideas out there? @ least 6gb of ram working... says front bus 800mhz 6400 should work?
