a friend has video of wedding , honeymoon on dvd. (nothing copy protected, camera) last evening, valentine's day, played on pc half way through before freezing. then, wouldn't play past intro/menu screen. computer can read dvd find video ts files, won't play. dvd has paper label on it. appears well-adhered disk no loose edges.
first question, can put dvd paper label in 1 year old macbook pro (266 ghz intel core i7)?
second, there way try recover data? have toast, handbrake, , mactheripper. if can data using mac, save on hard drive , burn copy. live , learn.
can me save him?
dvd's don't corrupt same way hard drives do. more likely, it's scratched or has been left in heat, unless of course it's problem drive. think you'd ok putting in laptop, wary of paper labels. if doesn't play in drive, there's not can do, in experience.
