Question about ipad and icloud

i bought first ever ipad last night far great don't understand icloud. googles picasa can upload photos , have them streamed gallery? apple offer service picasa?

all photos take, if photo stream enabled automatically upload icloud , download other devices icloud (iphone, mac, etc...) documents apps (pages, keynote, etc...) sync between ipads , iphones, along calendars , contacts.
