MBP Not Booting Up (PLEASE HELP MAJOR PROBLEM)

i have mid-2010 13" macbook pro. today, updated os 10.7.3 (from 10.7.2) through system update. after update, have not been able computer @ all. bong, go apple logo, , spinning gear spin forever. it's been doing 2 hours now, , have tried turning on , off , no avail. let battery run out, , still noting. tried reinstalling lion, says it's verifying apple , gets stuck there. have not been able figure out, , it's extremely frustrating. here?

have same problem morning. may have acceeded let install update last night.
booted cmnd-v , saw boot log screen became stuck @ message "system bootstrapper has crashed: trace/bpt trap:5".
rebooted cmnd-p-r holding keys down 1 minute untill saw normal metallic/mesh boot screen several options 1 of "disk utility". ran , came windo left side panel had "macintosh hd" above divider , "disk1 mac os x base system" below divider line.
no problems forund macintosh hd. did repair of next level "750 gb toshiba mk...." root of disk guess.
chose restart. still not better. expect try lion restore next, connection here slow - need return home.
