Brand new iPhone not plugging well into 2010 MBP

hey guys,

got brand new iphone 2 days ago. i've been on non-stop, tinkering around settings, messing around siri, , downloading , toying new apps. typical new user stuff.

anyway, last night realized iphone having trouble staying plugged mid-2010 mbp. though solidly plugged in, stop charging, reconnect, stop charging, reconnect. pretty annoying because start getting 'itunes not recognize iphone" pop-ups.

after awhile, noticed happens when first connect iphone computer, after awhile settles down. cord seem sensitive, though; in, if touch cord or move phone around much, it's prone disconnect. last night time did in middle of charging.

here's i've noticed after little experimenting:

  • the disconnect/reconnect issue happes when i'm both plugged in apple wired keyboard's usb port , directly mbp
  • the issue occurs if change iphone sync cables
  • this not happen if i'm charging iphone using ac adapter
  • might irrelevant, feel it's easier take usb cable out of iphone compared 2010 ipod touch
  • this issue not occur when connect iphone battery pack (i.e. mophie juice pack)
  • lastly, if connect iphone mophie juice pack use micro usb cable connect iphone computer, issue not happen.

wrong computer?

**updated: after 10 minutes of being plugged mophie juice pack (with juice pack charging iphone itself) got error saying iphone not support charging accessory. i'm beginning think wrong phone , hope wasn't caused juice pack.**

**update x2**: plugged iphone different computer (specifically brother's 2009 imac), , phone having same issue.**

the computer in active state whole time it's plugged in? might hardware problem laptop's usb port. sounds that, since can duplicate it, should bring in , show folks on @ apple store.

alternatively turn on wifi syncing , forget plugging phone computer, since charges fine adapter.
