Trying to decide between a MBP 4,1 and MBA mid-2011

hi folks,

i'm in need of mac laptop , use advice.

i'm working on html5 game want start porting ios. it's being developed on win7 desktop. in order start working (again) on ios, need mac laptop. buy 13" macbook air (current model), i'm little reluctant because close refresh or 15" macbook air introduction?

family member has 15" macbook pro (4,1 model) has following specs:

2.5ghz intel core 2 duo
2gb ram
250gb hd

can purchase $400. there 2 small problems machine.

1-the latch lid finicky.
2-there pink line runs top bottom (1 pixel wide) 1/8" left side of screen.

machine in condition otherwise.

i'd advice , opinions on whether seems feasible pay $400 , use macbook pro until new macbook pros/airs refresh?

if it's family member can't ask if can borrow few months?
