track pad double click and hold to drag isn't working...

hey guys,

when ever double tap , hold drag on mbp running lion, doesn't work... used to... tap click option selected in settings menu, , works fine on mothers identical mbp... double tap click works fine too... thoughts?

 

did check settings in:

system preferences -> universal access -> mouse & trackpad -> trackpad options

relevant setting [x] dragging (with drag lock)
