switching between different windows in Word - can't get the short cut to work

so, understanding should able use cmd+' (that button left of number 1) switch between windows in word 2011, can't make short cut work. think messed because manually specified short cut switch between full screen , regular view in settings. now, have deleted short cut still can't use switch between windows. know how can fix (and, if there standard short cuts switching between regular view , full screen view)??
