Is it possible to connect to 2 Newtorks with a USB wi-fi dongle?

the reason ask because thinking possible configurations house, , 1 problem have been having video streaming performance tv when downloading something, particularly hd videos.

have spare wireless router set no-internet local network connect tv imac through usb dongle, leaving internet network downloads etc.

know if possible?

 

i'm sure is, possible on both wifi , wired lan simultaneously. connect imac internet wire, make hotspot tv - apple tv have own wifi, , internet since share mac.
