iPhone 4 makes iPhoto Hang?

i have had iphone 4 amount of time mac pro. i'm running 10.6.8 lately when try connect iphone 4 , pictures off through iphoto, application hangs. try force quit iphoto still hangs after force quit , requires reboot of computer iphoto quit completely. has been happening 90% of time try now.

suggestions?
