first of all, looking @ thread. know there many of these every day , it's same problem requires little troubleshooting. i've been trying while figure out myself no luck.
ipad jailbroken redsn0w, , things went smoothly while. (1) first problem itunes wouldn't recognize ipad. (2) few days later stopped charging. ipad acknowledges plugged in, gives (not charging) text next battery. (3) found if turned off ipad , left plugged wall charge*. (4) @ point decided factory reset. i'm not sure if bad idea or not given ipad jailbroken. didn't research went it. figured delete jailbroken files have re-install original ipad software. (5) ipad stuck in boot/reboot mode , itunes not recognize it. (6) computer acknowledge usb device has been plugged in when connect ipad in dfu mode itunes not prompt me saying there ipad in restore mode connected computer, , computer doesn't recognize device.
occurred in period of 6 months , i've had useless ipad while. if have ideas, or questions i'm open trying anything. don't have whole lot of experience these types of things, i'm not entirely ignorant.
again, taking time read this. take 'er easy.
*at point no longer have original ipad charger, , using different wall usb charger. suspect might 1 of reasons (3) happens don't have money buy new ipad wall charger. let me know if case.
seeing no-one has responded yet, i'll have go you.
1: operating system computer use? windows or os x? if windows, it's driver issue.
2: ipad requires more beefy charger (2a @ 5v, not normal 1a @ 5v provided iphone charger). typical usb port / cheapo usb charger provides 0.5a @ 5v.
3: reflects lower current provided charger. takes longer fill battery. it's slow ipad using more power receiving whilst turned on.
4: mistake. can't use reset options when jailbroken or this. @ least know next time now.
5: see 1
6: see 1
if can, try restoring on computer. found brother's laptop, nothing did sort out itunes not recognising ipod. removed itunes, wiped drivers etc. in end, still running xp opportunity update 7.
