Installing Firmware Rev 009 on Crucial M4 SSD for Macbook Pro

my ssd running great ran articles on internet stating upgrading firm on m4 sdd make run better. went crucial website, downloaded instructions on how update firmware got lost during whole process. i'm used entering bios screen , playing around on pc i've never done on mac. i'm kinda scared i'll mess up. has upgraded firmware revision? if so, how? i'm using 2011 late edition 17" mbp running osx lion.
