iMessages "Not Delivered" when sent to email (2/18/12)

since morning i've been receiving "not delivered" errors --- although message go through --- when sending imessage strictly email address (as opposed phone number).

desktop beta of messages has shut down "not delivered" messages.

i've tried rebooting both desktop , iphone 4s turning imessage on , off on iphone.
