HDD to SSD+HDD Help

hi,

apologize imagine has have been answered before, i've been doing lot of googling , have yet find a explained solution.

have 320gb hdd in mbp full. have 64gb ssd on way. going put ssd in place of hdd (for os , of applications) , move hdd optical bay (rest of storage, media).

have external hdd time machine back-ups on.

what's best way make work?

starters, thinking:
1. install 10.6 on ssd w/ recovery disk.
2. re-upgrade 10.7 via app store.
3.?????

there way 320gb hdd external, , erase it, place in optical bay, set ssd hold os , applications, , configure hdd hold /user folder. restore (via timemachine, carbon copy cloner, superduper,?) restore back-up original hdd , placed in appropriate ssd , hdd?

thank help!!!

the easiest way move data don't intend put on ssd off of current hdd until remaining data small fits on ssd.
next use ccc clone stuff ssd. format hdd anyway want , move data , set symbolic links reference music, movies, pictures folders on hdd.

need enough space on external disk or else going difficult. although you'd have reformat hdd eventually.
