WinXP not installing

i have old copy of winxp-sp2 want install on '09 macpro.

have had copy of winxp on trusty old '07 imac many years , has worked flawlessly...well, flawless winxp gets, anyway.

have 4 hdd's on macpro, 1 of them dedicated clone of old system , bootcamp. let bootcamp assistant handle partitioning (it not work pre-partitioned disks) , follow instructions.

upon inserting winxp cd, system restarts , begins setup, after while , lot of activity screen asks me either:

- press 'enter' install
- press 'f3' quit
- press 'r' else, forgot , didn't write down.

no matter how many times press 'return' or 'enter' (numpad), nothing happens. pressing 'f3' not either. option left hard reset (hold power button) , eject cd after power on.

now, everymac.com states winxp should supported macpro, bootcamp assistant did need windows 7. i'm not gonna fork out $199 play old games.

gives???

system specs:

'09 macpro 2.66ghz quad (xeon w3520) nehalem
12 gb ram
1x640gb, 3x 1tb hdd
nvidia gt120-512mb gpu

osx 10.6.8

winxp sp2

you didn't update bootcamp 3.2 3.3 when went 10.6.8 did you? does'nt support windows xp.
