Streaming video from shared Mac folder to AppleTV?

i bought new appletv , getting soon, , want know how can stream movies located on shared drive it?

right now, videos in folder shared mbp (which running sl) , have various formats. i've been trying find way show these on atv without having convert them.

i've heard airflick, i'm running lion , apparently doesn't work (someone tell me i'm wrong). vaguely remember way stream iphone4, , stream airplay on atv?

 

plex iphone , airplay apple tv. if play in itunes can airplay mac or jb apple tv , install flash black media player, or plex access shared folder , play movies directly.
